The food we consume is the centerpiece of our mental and physical well-being, yet in this face paced world we live today, rarely do we give enough thought as to what we’re putting into our bodies and where it comes from.
While advances in technology have helped our society become more connected than ever, we’ve also grown more disconnected than ever to the natural world. We’ve become far too dependent on gadgets to make our lives easier and grocery stores to stock their shelves for us. But where was that food grown? How far did it travel before reaching the store? How was it grown? How was the soil amended? What fertilizers were used? Was it grown using organic practices or were chemicals involved? Who grew that food?
Over the past year, I realized one of the greatest contributions I could make was to create a small scale farm to provide high quality food to the local community.
I’ve been inspired by farmers like Curtis Stone and Jean Martin Fortier who created achievable blueprints for small scale farmers to grow lots of food in the least amount of space.
We are a family of 3 living in a tiny house in Schuylkill County, Pa trying to live a peaceful life in this chaotic world.
2021 will be our first year producing food and you can follow along on our journey right here on our blog, as well as on our Instagram, Facebook and Youtube pages!
